1. Apply RUSART Deco: Venetian Lime Plaster (ready-to-use) with the palette knife on the back side of the cradleboard, so the edges of the board create a frame around your work. A layer should be about 1/2 inch thick. Let it dry for 24 hours.
2. Mix pigments with water, 1 part of pigment and 2 parts of water by volume. You may need to add more water while painting. Use just a small amount first.
3. Apply a thin layer of the plaster (2-3 mm) with the palette knife.
4. Paint with pigments dissolved in water. Make sure that pigments mix with the top layer of plaster. For lighter colours, use more water and blend into plaster softly. For bolder colours, use less water.
5. Let it dry a little bit and add another layer of paint to the areas that you want to see darker or more intense in colour.
6.  In general, a binder is not required, as the pigment mixed solely with the water will sink into the wet plaster. However, for sharp lines as well as for dark accents add a few drops of watercolour binder into a pigment mixture on your palette.
7. Let the work dry for 48 hours and then apply wax with a sponge or cotton cloth to seal the work.
