When to use glazing medium for oil?
Mediums are not always necessary, but sometimes they bring incredible value, like this ENL glazing medium for oil paints.
If you prefer transparent paints that provide glazing effects, using just oil as a thinner may not be good enough as oil doesn’t provide that much flow. This medium brings out the richness of pigments and promotes permanence. As its optical properties do not deteriorate with time, it protects the top layers of paint. It also brings viscosity to the paints.
The closest analogue to ENL glazing medium is retouching varnish, but most likely it will have turpentine oil or white spirit inside that may cause headaches and other health issues.
This product is absolutely non-toxic and perfect for painting indoors.
