Daniel Smith Watercolor Ground provides a versatile foundation that imparts a texture akin to cold-press watercolour paper on a variety of surfaces, including wood, metal, ceramic, plastic, glass, stone, and plaster. This archival-quality medium not only enhances texture but also effectively conceals imperfections.

For Titanium White, Mars Black, or Buff Titanium, applying a thickness of 2mm (approximately the thickness of a nickel) allows a 4 oz jar to cover about 10 square feet, while a 16 oz jar covers around 41 square feet. For reference, a standard sheet of watercolour paper measuring 22”x30” is 4.5 square feet, meaning a 4 oz jar of the specified colours should adequately cover two sheets.
