Winsor and Newton, Linseed Oil, Refined (75ml)

$9.50

This low-viscosity, pale-coloured, alkali-refined oil dries slowly, making it ideal for reducing the consistency of oil colours. It increases gloss and transparency and can be added to other oils to extend drying time and improve workability.

Enhancing the Characteristics of Colour
Choosing the right combination of oils, solvents, mediums, and varnishes is as individual as selecting a colour palette. Depending on the artist’s technique and style, a wide range of traditional materials is available to help control drying time, boost gloss, improve flow, or add texture.

Mediums should be used in moderation and always mixed directly with the paint. It is generally recommended to avoid combining multiple mediums in a single mixture, as this can compromise the stability of the paint film.

To protect the finished artwork, a carefully selected varnish can unify the surface and provide a lasting final finish.
