When to use patina
Patina (acrylic, oil or based on any other binder) is for finishing a textured surface. It fills indents, cracks and cracklings, debossings and other surface imperfections with nice gold finish. As it’s patina, normally the embossed texture remains untouched. Most patinas, including RUSART Deco: Acrylic Gold Patina, is transparent and doesn’t affect colours underneath. As it’s acrylic-based it looks like it has white colour in it when in a jar, but that’s just acrylic dispersion that goes transparent once dry.
How to use Acrylic Gold Patina
- Stir or shake the jar well
- Apply on top of acrylic or chalk paint, plaster, concrete, wood or metal]
- Rub with a sponge or soft cloth
- Let 2 hours to dry and wait for 24 hours before applying any sealing varnish
- Wash your tools with water and soap before they get dried.
