However, some find Squirrel hair challenging to control due to its lack of “snap.” To address this issue, Rosemary’s new Squirrel Blend brush incorporates Synthetic fibres for improved control and snap, while also reducing the cost compared to a Pure Squirrel Brush.

The Series 38 Pointed Oval Wash brush combines Squirrel hair and Synthetic fibres, offering the benefits of both materials. Squirrel hair is known for its excellent water-carrying capacity, making it a popular choice for watercolour brushes. However, some find Squirrel hair challenging to control due to its lack of “snap.” To address this issue, Rosemary’s new Squirrel Blend brush incorporates Synthetic fibres for improved control and snap, while also reducing the cost compared to a Pure Squirrel Brush.

This blend retains the water retention of Squirrel hair while being slightly softer than a 100% Synthetic Brush. The Oval Wash shape is the first in our lineup, available in sizes 1/2˝, 3/4˝, and 1˝, with more shapes planned for release this year. To clean the brushes, simply rinse them in water and lay them on their side to dry. They may appear fluffy when completely dry, but rehydrating them will restore their original shape. The new Squirrel Blend brush is suitable for various applications, including watercolour, silk painting, pinstriping, lettering, calligraphy, and more.
