The buyer is responsible for any taxes or tariffs associated with their purchase. Prices shown on the artmaterials.ca site do NOT include taxes, shipping, or handling. All prices are in Canadian dollars.

Returns and Exchanges – General Policy

All Returns and/or Exchanges require your order number. Items cannot be accepted back without one.
RUSART Art Supplies accepts returned merchandise without penalty for up to 14 (fourteen) days following delivery (for exchange or refund) via external carrier only. Returned merchandise must be accompanied by the receipt or your order number. Return shipping charges will be paid by RUSART Art Supplies in the following cases:

  • If you did not receive the merchandise you ordered
  • If you received a defective item (it may be exchanged for the same product)
  • If the product was damaged during shipping

Once opened and/or used, merchandise is non-exchangeable and non-refundable.
The amount of refund will be returned to your credit card that you used for the initial payment.

Returns and Exchanges – Special conditions
Factory Defect or Shipping Error

If you receive a defective item, we will replace it. If there’s a packaging error, we’ll correct it. All this will be done as quickly as possible, cheerfully and at our expense.

Shipping Damage

Note that when you receive a delivery from an external carrier, you should check the product to verify that it was not damaged during shipping. If the product was damaged, put it back into its original packaging and contact RUSART Art Supplies by email order@artmaterials.ca. If the shipping box is damaged on delivery, do not accept it. The external carrier will return the box to RUSART Art Supplies. Please, always include your order number. Damaged items will be refunded or exchanged free of charge.

Other returns and exchanges

To return an item please contact us by e-mail order@artmaterials.ca. Explain the reason for your return. All the instructions will be given by e-mail.
Returns must be sent no later than 14 (fourteen) days from the delivery date in undamaged and new condition, in the original packaging, along with all hardware, parts, instructions and the packing slip. Otherwise, your order will not be refunded and used items will not be sent back.

Returns not due to a Factory Defect, Shipping Error or Shipping Damage, receive a refund for the amount of the returned item, less an Administration fee – $5.00. Shipping costs will not be refunded.

If you used “free shipping” option and return you items that are not the fault of a Factory Defect, Shipping Error or Shipping Damage the original shipping charge will be deducted from your refund.

If the exchange is not possible we will issue the refund.

Please ensure all returned items, as we cannot assume responsibility for returned items lost or broken in transit. Shipping companies require retaining original packing, cartons and freight bills of damaged packages for their inspection.

Incorrect shipping information

The customers are responsible for providing correct shipping information. You can correct your shipping address by e-mail order@artmaterials.ca. However, if your order is already packed or shipped by the time you bring corrections there is no way to change it. RUSART Art Supplies is not responsible for shipping to a wrong address due to customer’s mistake. You’ll carry all the expenses associated with this mistake including shipping fees for the return.

Non-Returnable Items

Some items may not be refundable or exchangeable (Except for Factory Defect or Shipping Error or Shipping Damage) such as clearance items. You will be notified about that when you place your order.


Some items presented on artmaterials.ca may not be available for immediate shipping. Customers will see those items in the shopping cart before check-out. Customers can check out without out-of-stock items or place a backorder. The former option means that a customer removes out-of-stock items from a shopping cart, doesn’t pay for them and will not receive them. The letter option means that out-of-stock items remain in the shopping cart, must be paid at check-out and will be sent to the customer as soon as they arrive in RUSART’s warehouse. Shipping fees will be charged once and the amount will be calculated as if all the items are sent with one parcel.

Customers will be notified about an approximate waiting time before checking-out.

Customers can cancel any backorder items at any time before RUSART ships them. A difference between actual cost of shipping and shipping fees paid by the customer (if any) will be charged and subtracted from amount of return. If the difference is negative (a customer paid more than fees normally charged for the same shipping) RUSART will return this amount to this customer.
